Mergers & Acquisitions Report;4/11/2011, Vol. 24 Issue 15, p16
The article reports on the acquisition of copper recycling company Metallum Holdings SA by energy specialist private equity shop First Reserve Corp. Although other parties expressed interest in acquiring Metallum, it agreed to the 958 million U.S. dollars offer by First Reserve. First Reserve director Alex Williams says the acquisition will provide First Reserve the ability to gain exposure to the tight copper market without taking the single asset, geological, development or country risk that is typically associated with a business of this size.
