ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the dredging operation to clean the Ottawa River, one of Ohio's polluted waterways. It says that despite efforts to contain some of the pollution sources, such as landfills and industrial sites, the river contains toxic chemicals that endangered both human and local aquatic ecosystem. It tells that years after political entanglement, a massive dredging cleanup project was implemented in 2010. The project then removed nearly 240,000 cubic yards of contaminated sediments.
