ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the economic outlook of banking institutions in Australia after the global financial crisis (GFC). It says that banks in Australia have emerged stronger than its counterpart in many developed markets following the end of the government's debt guarantee program. It relates that smaller financial institutions in the country remain affected by the effects of the crisis. It notes that bank capital and liquidity in the country are much stronger than before.
