ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the impact of proper stocking density and mixing procedures in grow-finish hogs in the U.S. According to researcher Megan Potter, mixing pigs prior to slaughter did not have impact on the overall performance. However, increasing pig density had impact on performance than mixing pigs. It is inferred that increasing the number of pigs per pen had a larger effect on performance than mixing pigs although the overall perfornace of mixed pigs do not differ than non-mixed pigs.
