ABSTRACT
The article discusses the rise in potato prices in Great Britain due to demand for exports and quality. The free-market average of the Potato Council reportedly increased to £182.38 British pounds per ton in the week to February 4, 2011. The "Potato Weekly" report states that increased demand for export supplies have put pressure on the availability of packing material. Charts of spot and forward prices, weekly average production and futures prices in various areas of Great Britain are offered.
