ABSTRACT
Two-dimensional correlation analysis is a mathematical data treatment that allows the time-dependent variations in the spectra to be viewed more easily in two orthogonal representations, the synchronous and asynchronous correlation maps. While this correlation analysis has been applied exclusively to time-dependent measurements, there is much potential if it was used in the analysis of data from other experiments. This paper extends the formalism of 2D-correlation analysis beyond time-dependent measurements to a more generalized description. © 2000 American Institute of Physics.
