ABSTRACT
The article looks at the opportunity of long term evolution (LTE) networks for cable operators to boost revenue stream in the U.S. Cable operators are investing primarily with Internet Protocol (IP) and Ethernet technologies to be ready to provision backhaul services for the LTE. It notes that cable operators can help alleviate choke points in wireless networks with the use of fiber optics that they have deployed and run parallel with the growth of IP-based cellular technologies.
