ABSTRACT
The article presents news concerning libraries and information science professionals from various countries, including protests against plans to close about 400 libraries in Great Britain, information from the Deutsches Institut für Normung, (DIN), the German national standards organization, about transcribing the Hebrew alphabet in library documentation, and a library science course and test for people who want to work in library science being offered in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. .
