ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the shortage of supplies in television and production industry in Japan after the 8.9-magnitude earthquake, followed by a tsunami and nuclear crisis. It says that a plant of Sony Corp. which is a major producer of professional products and tapes had been damaged in Sendai, and another Sony plant was shutdown due to power outages. It adds that the HDCam SR tapes are of high quality that its shortage is a crisis because productions have shifted to HDCam SR.
