This article presents the standards of student training that a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales should achieve to become or to remain authorized principals in Great Britain. Applicants seeking consent to train or to continue to train students under either bye-law 46 or bye-law 48 must be able to demonstrate to the Board of Accreditation of Authorised Principals that they have the facility to meet the standards. The standards apply similarly to existing authorised principals.
