ABSTRACT
The article presents news briefs related to school administration and effective teaching in the U.S. The Measure of Effective Teaching (MET) study by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has found that the value-added histories of teachers can predict classroom performance. A report by the Center on Education Policy found that it might take decades for achievement gaps in U.S. education to narrow.
