ABSTRACT
The article reports on the consequence on the part of Citigroup Inc. for its batch processing for core retail banking in North America. It mentions that Citi has sacrificed speed in exchange for perceived technological reliability in its move to migrate two proprietary systems to FIS Global Systematics. It says that such process could cause contenders to make inroads if banks like BBVA Compass and Santander BanCorp take advantage of the flexibility brought by adopting real-time core engines.
