The article reports that on January 26, 2011, Maurice Leroy, France's Minister for Cities and Jean-Paul Huchon, Ile-de-France's regional council president, announced that 32.4 billion euros will be spent till 2025 to set up an automated metro throughout Paris to upgrade existing networks, with 9.7 billion euros to come from the state, 11.2 billion euros from the Syndicat des transports d'ÃŽle-de-France (STIF) and local councils, and the remainder from local property taxes.
