The article reports that on February 3, 2011, the German Westfalen-Lippe and Nidersachsen transport authorities awarded a 10-year contract to NordWestBahn to operate the Wesser/Lammetalbahn's passenger services, that on February 14, the Landesnahverkehrsgesellschaft Niedersachsen (LNVG) granted the Netz Heide-Kreuz contract to Osthannoversche Eisenbahnen for eight years, and the Weser-Elbe-Netz contract to Eisenbahnen und Verkehersbetriebe Elbe-Weser for ten years.
