ABSTRACT
The article reports that on February 1, 2011, the Austrian government approved 1.8 billion euros for the Austrian Federal Railways five-year investment plan, to upgrade its lines in the West, South and Brenner corridors, and that on February 4, it renewed the Österreichische Bundesbahnen's (ÖBB) contract to continue passenger services till 2019.
