ABSTRACT
This article discusses a strategy and provides a question-analysis model for interviewers in selecting and phrasing questions. Interviewing is a most important form of interpersonal communication in most business and industrial settings. Unstructured questions in the interview produces somewhat more restraint in the responses. The funnel strategy is a technique in which the interviewer moves, throughout the interview, from free association questions to structured questions. The method used in the inverted funnel starts with very specific questions and moves toward open-ended questions.
