This article presents the perspective of American Business Communication Association (ABCA) president on the stability and growth of the association and the field of business communication. Many colleges do not have a required curriculum for business communication courses, including the University of Texas at Austin. Increasingly large attendance at national ABCA meetings and growth in ABCA membership is occurring a time when just the opposite is being experienced by many other professional groups.
