ABSTRACT
The article discusses the difficulties of retaining beginning teachers and offers practical steps administrators can take to prevent teachers from leaving the profession. Some suggestions include changing grade levels, involvement in extra-curricular activities, and teaching workshops. Also included are tips for professional enhancement outside the classroom such as traveling to summer workshops, utilizing career consultants, and learning a second language.
