ABSTRACT
The article discusses teachers who break from conventional classroom practices, identified as positive deviants. Strategies of such teachers are identified, such as building relationships with principals, positive leadership, conflict avoidance, and a collaborative relationship among teachers within a school. Suggestions for principals regarding the empowerment and advancement of positive deviant teachers within schools are also presented.
