ABSTRACT
The author reflects on several wireless entities that were chosen for 2011 Leadership Awards by "Wireless Week." It notes that while Apple Inc. and Google Inc. made the biggest development in the past years, the awards were given to more traditional wireless institutions including Foursquare, Mobile Giving (mGive) Foundation, Verizon Wireless. It says that Verizon did not only launched Long-Term Evolution (LTE) commercially, but announces 10 devices that could actually work on that network.
