ABSTRACT
The article reports on Axis and Allied intervention and collaboration in Iran before the onset of and during World War II. It is stated that the British Empire's Iranian oil prospects led to the establishment of the Anglo-Persian Oil Company (APOC). On the other hand, Tsarist Russia put diplomatic pressures on Iran as it asserted itself in the region. A background of close economic and cultural relations established by Reza Shah Pahlavi with Nazi Germany is presented.
