ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decline in the revenues of the Academic and Professional (A&P) Group at Cengage Learning Inc. in the first quarter of fiscal 2009. It explains that the decline was caused by the variance in the workflow process, decline in orders from the schools, and unfavorable foreign currency translation. President Ron Dunn also explains that to counter the decrease, the company reinvested in publishing, revived its franchise, and plans to improve its digital and print products.
