ABSTRACT
The article discusses projected trends in event marketing in the United States in 2002. Company restrictions on non-essential travel and travel budget cuts will contribute to the growth in regional events. According to Doug Ducate, president of Center for Exhibition Industry Research, regional attendance in exhibitions is not affected by air travel or by company restrictions. Experts project that it will take six to 12 months for attendance at major national shows to recover its record-high levels in first quarter 2001.
