ABSTRACT
The article reports on the impact of the uncertain school market condition on K-12 publishers in the U.S. in 2009. The monthly sales report from the Association of American Publishers (AAP) showed that net sales of basal textbooks fell 24.9% in January 2009 to 44 million dollars from January 2008. According to Jay Diskey, executive director of the school division of AAP, there are many cancellations or postponements in the market in textbook adoption states.
