ABSTRACT
The article profiles Jose Hernandez, an astronaut at the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Hernandez refers to his realizations why he became an astronaut based from the events that happened in his life such as his fascination to the Apollo mission during his childhood, stargazing during farm work, and knowing Franklin Chang-Diaz as the first Hispanic American astronaut. His interest in mathematics made him overcome the challenges of learning English.
