ABSTRACT
The article reports on a study of the probability of using commercially available Hepatitis A virus (HAV) serum enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit to detect total anti-HAV in oral fluid. It indicates that salivary HAV antibody test has the potential of substituting HAV serum antibody test to identify prospective HAV vaccinees. It suggests both children and adult to take the test before vaccination to avoid unnecessary immunological assault.
