ABSTRACT
The article discusses the data on the purchasing of books in bookstores and via online in the U.S. from Simba and Stuart Johnson & Associates. It says that 77.2 million adults purchased books at a bookstore in the fall of 2009 and 34.2 million bought books online, wherein the total number of adults who utilized both channels was 90.4 million. The consumers who utilized the online channel to buy their books numbered 13.2 million in 2009, while 56.2 million customers used a bookstore.
