ABSTRACT
The article reports on the successful emergence of chemical firm LyondellBasell Industries NV from chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. Anand Melvani, managing director of the Bank of America Merrill Lynch, states that because the firm could not refinance due to decline of its underlying assets, Bank of America Corp. will assist the company in its debtor in possession (DIP) loan. As a result, the DIP attracted investors , while many of the firm's pre-petition lends help assemble the DIP loan.
