ABSTRACT
The article reports on the Louisiana-Gulf Coast Chapter (LGCC) of the American Bamboo Society's annual grove grooming held at Avery Island on February 27-March 1, 2009. According to the author, the event focused on cutting old and damaged culms and removing them from the grove. The gathered culms were distributed to the members and what remained were auctioned off to raise funds for the LGCC. The event also included a demonstration of using bamboo in art crafts.
