ABSTRACT
The article discusses the phrases contained in the journals of hermit Noah John Rondeau who lived for 30 years in Cold River in the Adirondacks. It was mentioned that the phrases were written in codes, which Rondeau has developed and perfected while living in Cold River. It is said that David Greene showed interest in Rondeau's journals and attempted to decipher the codes himself. It looks into how Green tried to crack the code using the compass rose.
