This article provides information on the 23rd conference of the International Association of Labour History Institutions, held on August 1992 in Prague, Czech Republic. Most of the conference was dedicated to the problems of archive administration resulting from the collapse of the Communist Empire. The conference ended with a visit to Kutna Hora and its miners' cathedral and a beer festival in a Prague brewery. The impression left was that in a changing world the role of labour history libraries, archives and museums was now more important that ever before.
