ABSTRACT
The article reports that rubber compounding capacity has been added by Pirelli Tire North America Inc. to its Rome, Georgia, tire plant, which is a 12 million dollars investment designed to support the firm's growth plan. The Rome plant has sourced rubber compound from outside vendors and other plants since it was opened in 2001. According to Tom Gravalos, vice president, marketing, motorsports and original equipment, the investment will support Pirelli's market gains of the past several years.
