ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the importance of involving family members in financial planning conversations about the challenges that needed to be faced before the client dies. It features the conversational guide from the book "The Parent Care Conversation: Six Strategies for Dealing With the Emotional & Financial Challenges of Aging Parents," by Dan Taylor which can be used by financial planners to start conversation among the parents and children. It notes the work of Maria C. Forbes, a Kolbe Certified consultant in Johnscreek, Georgia in establshing effective family teams in addressing caregiving challenges. It mentions that financial advisers are asking help from behavioral sciences consultants to provide order and harmony in dealing with family crisis.
