ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a study which showed the effectiveness of using a one-piece hydrophobic acrylic intraocular lens (IOL) designed for insertion through a small incision in the rehabilitation of postoperative vision with low surgically induced astigmatism. The study involved implanting the microincision iMICS1 IOL from Hoya Surgical Optics through an incision in the capsular bag using Hoya's manual-load cartridge. According to researcher Hiroko Bissen-Miyajima, corrected visual acuity remained following implantation.
