ABSTRACT
This article focuses on the research study about Irish labor history in Ireland. The development of the Irish Labour History Society (ILHS) in 1973 was discussed. Due to the development of ILHS, the two normative conceptions of Irish labor history existed. As asserted by the author in this article, the two conceptions were as follows: first, as well established by radicals, present the working class as the vanguard of the uncompleted national struggle and consider the labor primarily in relation to that struggle; second, believe that labor history should be about labor.
