ABSTRACT
The article presents an economic outlook for Slovakia as of March 2011. It highlights the 4.44 billion euros budget deficit of the country that manifests a positive sign in narrowing its fiscal deficit to 5.5% of gross domestic product (GDP) forecast in 2011. It adds that the government's bond auction on January 17, 2011 will reap a good turnout and demand for 1-year treasury bills. However, it warns that the renewed tensions within the ruling coalition will possibly affect its austerity drive.
