ABSTRACT
The article presents an overview on the economic conditions in Hungary. It mentions that the monetary policy tightening cycle pursued by the Hungarian National Bank (HNB) will come to an end as the Monetary Policy Council (MPC) will focus on medium-term inflation risk. Increased scope for a rate cut is also anticipated as government outlines fiscal spending cuts and as inflation will unlikely to head much higher.
