ABSTRACT
The article discusses the expanding role of the chief marketing officer (CMO). It is believed that the CMO must be able to delegate most tactical duties to trusted employees so they can be focused on the whole situation. Suzanne Hendery of Baystate Health adds that a marketing leader must have a master's degree in marketing because it is a business discipline. The new role of marketing leaders expects them to become more strategy- and results-oriented.
