The article discusses on author's experience of learning making soup and the importance of soup in her family. The author states that one night she made chicken noodle soup for her sick husband with the telephonic assistance from her mother. She states that thereafter she learned making several kinds of soups and made veggie beef and barley soup as first solid food for her children. Also presented is a recipe for veggie beef and barley soup
