ABSTRACT
The article discusses the author's experiences of writing a novel based on the missionary works of her maternal grand parents in China. The author recalls that she found the memoirs of her grandfather and decided to write a novel based on them, however, she was unsure of their faith. She shares that soon she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to undergo sessions of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The author admits that during her treatment time she realized her and grandparents' faith.
