Simeon Booker was awarded the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's 2010 Phoenix Award for lifetime achievement in September 2010. Former managing editor of "The Tennessean" Wayne Whitt has passed away on September 15, 2010. Jerome Aumente was a speaker at "The Open Mind," a radio show at WNET in New York which focused on media, citizen journalism and the risks faced by international reporters.
