ABSTRACT
The article reports that two journalists from the "Los Angeles Times" have reported on the salaries received by local officials in Bell, California. According to the author, reporters Jeff Gottlieb and Ruben Vives have revealed that Bell's city manager allegedly receives nearly 800,000 U.S. dollars a year, while the chief of police receives an annual salary of over 400,000 U.S. dollars. The author states that since Bell is a small city, no one is keeping watch on what local officials are doing.
