ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the modification of the green algae Botryococcus braunii (B. braunii) with the aid of a biochemist. It notes that the green algae are responsible for the production of crude oil that humans have polished to develop gasoline and other fuels. Texas AgriLife Research biochemist Timothy Devarenne states that knowing the genetic code and the genome sequence can be used to determine the genes involved in cell division wherein it can be manipulated to reduce the double rate.
