Utilities look for strategic partnerships

The article reveals that the U.S. Utilities Telecom Council (TC) released a report that analyzes utilities sector's unique communication needs and its need to partner with communication providers. The said report titled "Utility Communication Needs: Key Factors That Impact Utility Communication Networks," relates some technical factors that these two sectors must consider when delivering communication services including high reliability and higher bandwidth. Cynthia Brumfield, UTC's research director, sees an opportunity for smartgrids in this issue.
