ABSTRACT
The article discusses a study that investigated the effect of preeclampsia on lipid metabolism, aortic intimamedia thickness (aIMT) and atherogenic risk in newborn infants. Information in preeclampsia is provided with the methods employed on volunteer mothers and their neonates. An edge detection software was used for the analysis of aIMT images. Statistical analysis is discussed together with results expressed in terms of a table that summarizes the characteristics of neonates and mothers.
