In this article the author discusses aspects of Information Technology as the focus of bankruptcy examiners or the Primary Federal Regulators (PFR) in the U.S. in examining the bank customers. He is critical of the measures undertaken by several state banking divisions in adopting the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Officer's pre-examination questionnaire word for word. Also investigated are the CAMELS ratings and the relationship of IT and strategic planning.
