ABSTRACT
The article discusses a study conducted by Knorr et al. to challenge previous researches by Canadell et al. and Raupach et al. with respect to their detection of a positive airborne fraction (AF). The researchers contradicted the contention that a positive AF trend is indicative of a decreasing planetary carbon sink efficiency. In fact, they conclude that atmospheric data do not yet reveal a statistically significant signal to show that the carbon sink efficiency of the earth is either increasing, decreasing or remaining relatively constant.
