ABSTRACT
The article offers an analysis on the economic status of Slovakia. It says that the country's fiscal deficit will decrease by 2013, however, political issues can endanger its commitment to austerity. It notes that Slovak Democratic and Christian Union Democratic Party (SDKU-DS), a coalition formed to manage the fiscal deficit, would have difficulties implementing austerity measures because of its limits in power. It adds that unemployment stays a weak factor in the country's economy.
