ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the basic information about polio syndrome in the U.S. It states that polio is an acquired disease and not a congenital condition. Moreover, the condition is a highly infectious intestinal virus that affects spinal cord and causes paralysis. Polio researcher Allan Robbins notes that polio is a condition that attacks the wiring and the nervous system and not the muscles of joints.
