ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the efforts of Google Inc. to penetrate the mass media industry through its Google TV. According to Jeff Miller, chief executive officer (CEO) of Active Video Networks, the proposal of Google to compete with the traditional television services will necessarily clash the business principles of most operators. Meanwhile, Eric Schmidt, chief executive officer (CEO) of Google Inc, states that it is more difficult to integrate with a 50-year old technology with a brand-new one.
